Blackpool’s Showtown Museum announces opening date

Blackpool is home to an abundance of top family-orientated attractions to suit all ages, however there’s an exciting new attraction coming to town in 2024 and it has just announced when it will be opening.

Choice of activities to become even greater

There’s always something to do in Blackpool with families of all ages well catered for, however the choice of activities will become even greater in 2024 thanks to the announcement that Blackpool’s Showtown Museum will throw open its doors to the  public on March 15th, 2024. Tickets for the venue will go on sale from Autumn 2023 and demand is certain to be big.

Venue almost complete

Operated by Blackpool Heritage & Museum Trust, the museum has already had its official opening date pushed back, however the trust are optimistic that there won’t be any delays this time around. The original intention was to open in 2021, however these plans were thrown into disarray due mainly to the Covid-19 pandemic. Construction started the same year and the doors were last planned to open in April 2023, however with the venue almost complete, it now seems that the new planned  opening date of March 2024 can be met.

Fully interactive museum

The new museum will be fully interactive and will celebrate the rich history of the entertainment industry in Blackpool and the surrounding area. The Showtown team have been busy over the past year with excellent community projects which have included talks, tours and family activities.

The museum will be situated close to Blackpool Tower in the new Sands Venue Resort Hotel & Spa.
