Free family New Year’s Eve party on Blackpool’s Comedy Carpet

A ‘Dancing on the Carpet’ party for all the family will take place on the headland in front of Blackpool Tower between 4pm and 7pm on 31st December, bringing to an end an excellent record-breaking year for the seaside resort.

Blackpool is planning to wave goodbye to 2022 in style with a free family celebration on the Comedy Carpet on New Year’s Eve. The ‘Dancing on the Carpet’ party promises to be hugely popular and it gets underway at 4pm on 31st December.

This is very much a family friendly event with a range of music and entertainment as well as a thrilling laser and light show which will be set to music on the iconic Blackpool Tower. The laser show will take place twice during the evening, at 5pm and 6pm.

This exciting celebration is sponsored by TalkTalk and it will be taking place in Blackpool’s ‘Christmas by the Sea’ village which will be open until the end of the Blackpool Illuminations on 2nd January. The village includes an ice rink which is completely free to use as well as projection shows, spectacular light installations, themed log cabins and various food and drink outlets.

There is also a range of themed attractions for kids and the 60 metre tall Star Flyer, one of the tallest swing rides in Europe. The ever-popular skating rink will stay open until 9.30 on December 31st although the rides, food outlets and drink cabins will remain operational until midnight.

The New Year will be welcomed with a repeat of the light and laser show.
