Blackpool’s Strongest Man event attracts 100 entries
The Strongest Man competition has always attracted huge interest in Blackpool but this year’s contest is set to break all records with a bumper 100 competitors taking part.
100 strongmen will be competing at this year’s Strongest Man competition in Blackpool and they will be facing a set of gruelling challenges such as pressing logs and deadlifting weights. Their physical strength and mental toughness will be put to the test in what promises to be a thrilling competition and while there was a 2021 event, this year’s renewal has been extended to two days with a far larger number of entrants.
The contest will be staged on Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July 2022 at the Bay Horse Pub on Victoria Rd East in Thornton and a large number of interested spectators are expected to be in attendance.
Five different events will make up the contest, these comprising of: Land Rover Defender grip hold; Yolk walk in to duck walk; Deadlift ladder; Atlas stones and 120kg log press.
Among the competitors for 2022 is last year’s winner Shane Sutton who will be going all-out to successfully defend his title.
The main sponsor for the 2022 Strongest Man contest is iScreenMan.
Many people turned up at the 2021 event and showed an interest in taking part this year, hence the larger number of entrants coming forward. Why not come along and see what it’s all about. You may well fancy pitting your muscles against the strongmen in twelve months time!
