New Family Interactive Attraction for Blackpool Sea Life Centre
Merlin Entertainments are planning to create a great new attraction on the seafront for all the family.
The company behind Blackpool Dungeons, SEA LIFE Blackpool and Blackpool Tower, as well as the new and hugely popular Peter Rabbit: Explore & Play, is on the verge of creating another great venue in the centre of town by reviving a previously unused space in the Sea Life building.
Two planning applications have been submitted to Blackpool Council and these involve the use of a large space within the ground floor of the unused Promenade building. Full details of the proposed plans for the development haven’t been released as yet but the applications include a gift shop and hot food outlet alongside a “family attraction”.
Under the proposed development, the exterior of the building will be given a comprehensive facelift and Merlin Developments say that this development would bring many benefits including an improved visitor experience and job creation. It claims that the proposal would bring a “unique new leisure attraction” to the town.
Blackpool is already very well served with regard to visitor attractions, however the development of a building which is currently unused would be a big boost to the town and would only go towards enhancing the appearance of the area.
Details of the proposed development are being kept very much under wraps at present but this is being seen as a big opportunity to help revive the resort and enhance the visitor experience for the millions of tourists who visit each year.
