Blackpool’s world-famous illuminations are now very much in full swing with many thousands of visitors heading to the seaside resort to gaze in awe at six miles of dazzling light displays.
Biggest and best in the UK
Have you seen the 2024 Blackpool Illuminations yet? If not, then why not? This is one of the biggest and best events in the UK throughout the winter months and the great news is that there’s still plenty of time for you to head along and see the dazzling display. Once again, the Blackpool Illuminations have been extended and will continue right through to 5th January 2024.
Thrilling seafront lighting spectacle
This is the sort of spectacle that everybody should see at least one time. Whether you are a fully grown adult or small child, you can’t fail to be entranced by this thrilling seafront lighting spectacle which each year bathes the promenade in light from over one million bulbs. This has been described as the greatest free light show in the world and it has been a big part of Blackpool’s winter season since they first started in 1879.
Amazing projection shows
This is a great opportunity to see for yourself the six miles of larger-than-life displays, illuminated trams, amazing projection shows and laser technology, just the thing to brighten up those dark winter months.
Switch-on times
The switch on times for each evening’s light display varies – from 11th October to 17th October the Illuminations start at 6:15pm, while between 18th October and 26th October they come on at 6pm. Between 27th October and 12th December the switch-on time is 5pm, while between 13th December and 5th January you can see them from 4:30pm.
Six miles of lights
The 2024 Blackpool Illuminations stretch from Starr Gate to the south and Bispham to the north – over six miles of thrilling lighting displays. The whole spectacle is completely free for all to enjoy although there will be a chance for visitors to donate.
