Blackpool’s annual Christmas By The Sea village is shaping up nicely and will open to the public on Friday, 15th November 2024. The grand opening will include skaters as well as young school performers and it will mark the start of the Christmas period in Blackpool.

Completely free ice rink

Christmas By The Sea is always a hugely popular attraction with visitors and locals alike and this year’s event will include a completely free ice rink as well as whole range of family attractions such as light projection shows, festive tram rides, snowfalls, food and drink huts and much more.

Grand opening

The grand opening will take place at 5pm on Friday, 15th November and one of the main features will be a performance by children from BIDCA (Blackpool Ice Dome Charities Association) who will deliver one of their routines from the upcoming show, Snow White – A Fairytale Adventure On Ice.

Record numbers of visitors

In 2023, the Christmas By The Sea village attracted record numbers of visitors throughout the winter months and the evidence suggests that this year’s event will be even bigger with many hotels and guest houses full to capacity.

Tower Festival Headland

Christmas By The Sea 2024 will take place on the Tower Festival Headland in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower and it will run alongside the famous Blackpool Illuminations which run right through to early January. Be sure to get there early for the grand opening as this will be an extremely popular event.
