2025 Completion Date for Blackpool’s Civil Service Hub

Blackpool’s new £100 million civil service hub on King Street is now nearing completion and an opening date has been set for 2025.

Huge boost for town centre

From 2025, over 3000 staff will be calling their new King Street office home, thus providing Blackpool town centre with a huge boost. The 215,000 sq ft hub is an important part of the town’s ongoing £350 million development at Talbot Gateway and the project is being delivered by contractor VINCI Building and MUSE on behalf of Blackpool Council. Work on the building started early last February and the seven-storey construction has reached the highest point, the completion date of the £100m project now set for next year.

Significant positive impact

As well as proving office space for around 3,000 workers, the new civil service hub will have a significant positive impact on the town centre and immediate vicinity with new jobs created and more opportunities for local people, as well as attracting more inward investment in the town and infrastructure. Talbot Gateway is a huge venture which has seen a significant rejuvenation of the area around Blackpool North Station. New offices have already been completed, while a brand new four-star 144-room hotel and Marco Pierre White restaurant are both open for business. Plans have recently been approved for a new multiversity campus, while full planning permission is currently being sought for a new £45 million workspace just off Talbot Road which would cater for 1000 employees. A new multi storey car park is also in the pipeline with plans set to submitted later this summer.
