Armed Forces Day to get underway at Blackpool Airport this weekend
The Armed Forces Day will take place at Blackpool Airport on Saturday, June 25th
The 2022 Armed Forces Day will be celebrated at Blackpool Airport this weekend and visitors to the event can enjoy a range of activities and entertainment including a Spitfire at the Visitor Centre in Hangar 42.
The summer 2022 events continue on Saturday, 25th June with what is expected to be a hugely popular occasion. Armed Forces Day will recognise and pay tribute to the role which our armed forces have played over the centuries and are still playing to this day in various countries around the world.
Visitors to the event can enjoy the Spitfire Visitor Centre where they can see and learn more about the famous Battle of Britain fighter which, alongside the Hurricane, played a vital role in winning the war for the Allies.
Entry to the Spitfire Visitor Centre costs a mere £6 for adults and £4 for children aged between 8 and 16. Under 7s are free. Serving members of the British armed forces as well as Veterans and their families can also enter the museum free of charge.
Free parking facilities are available at the venue and the event takes place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, 25th June 2022.
Blackpool Airport is situated less than two miles to the south of the town centre and the Starr Gate tram stop is situated just a couple of hundred yards away. Local trains also serve Squires Gate Station which is very close to the airport although train strikes will almost certainly result in a vastly reduced service.
