New hotel rooms planned next to Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Soon you will be able to sleep in the shadow of The Big One thanks to a new development which will include new hotel accommodation next to the ever-popular Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

New holiday accommodation

The world-famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach is planning to offer brand new holiday accommodation which will be developed in empty shop units along the seafront. The popular leisure venue is currently seeking planning permission which would – if granted – allow them to develop up to 18 holiday apartments right next door to The Big One. These accommodation units would be managed by the Boulevard Hotel and guests will be free to use all of the guest facilities at the nearby hotel.

New lease of life

All of the units to the south of Watson Road are currently empty and letting them for alternative use has been tricky as they are too far from the Pleasure Beach main entrance. Nevertheless it is hoped that they will soon receive a new lease of life as holiday apartments with all guests able to check in at the nearby Boulevard and make use of the facilities there which include car parking and meal options.

Minimise disruption

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has claimed that there is demand for more high quality visitor accommodation and associated facilities, citing the success of the nearby Big Blue hotel which has been popular for many years.  If planning approval is granted for the scheme, then it is hoped that all necessary work will be carried out between January and April 2024 in order to minimise any disruption.
