Nickelodeon Grand Parade will kick-off 2023 Blackpool Illuminations

The Nickelodeon Grand Parade will take place along Blackpool’s famous Golden Mile ahead of the official switch-on of the illuminations on Friday, 1st September 2023.

Blackpool’s world-famous illuminations will return in less than three months’ time and once again the spectacle will be extended into 2024 due to the success of previous extended illuminations. Thousands of extra visitors are expected on each night of the illuminations and on the opening evening they will be treated to a spectacular parade along the seafront, featuring well known stars of favourite kids TV channel Nickelodeon.

The Nickelodeon Grand Parade will be a thrilling spectacle and it will be held on the Golden Mile as part of the official switch-on ceremony for the 2023 Blackpool Illuminations. The switch-on will be held outdoors for the first time in three years after previously being held indoors due to the Covid restrictions.

The 2023 Blackpool Illuminations will get underway with what promises to be one of the biggest and best displays yet with a larger-than-life parade of colourful floats featuring favourite characters such as PAW patrol, Transformers, Monsters High, Baby Shark and of course SpongeBob SquarePants and friends. The parade will also feature a selection of marching bands and other performers.

The Grand Parade will start from Blackpool Central Pier and continue along the seafront to the Tower festival Headland. Here there is to be a free family party which will include live music and other entertainment. This will lead-up to the big switch-on and a burst of fireworks.

No tickets are required to attend the event and it is completely free for all visitors.
