Strictly Come Dancing to return to Blackpool for 20th anniversary

The ever-popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing is set to make a welcome return to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the new series, the show marking its 20th anniversary this year.

BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing is one of the most popular shows on British TV and the show is reportedly making a return to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom after an absence of three years due to the Covid-19 restrictions of 2020 and 2021.

The Blackpool stage of the show is one of the favourites for fans and the contestants generally regard it as the week to reach. Strictly hasn’t been broadcast live from the seaside resort due to the Covid restrictions but bosses are apparently eager for the popular show to make a return this year as it marks its 20th anniversary.

A source said: “Blackpool week is such an important part of Strictly and everyone was gutted not to be able to go for the last two years.

“The production team are working out the logistics but everyone is feeling really hopeful that the show will be able to return there for 2022. And the fact that it will reach the landmark 20th series makes it all the more important.”

While Blackpool is a hugely popular venue for the show, there is a possibility that it could be broadcasted live from an even bigger venue in 2022 – Buckingham Palace!!!

Prince Charles and Camilla are apparently big fans of the show and they have offered the producers a chance to broadcast it live from Buckingham Palace in what could be a fitting conclusion to the Platinum Jubilee year.
