Star Flyer to return to Blackpool for Christmas 2024

Blackpool’s preparations for Christmas are already well underway and one of the tallest swing rides in Europe has arrived in town, soon to be thrilling daredevil riders and wowing spectators on the seafront.

196ft tall Star Flyer

Blackpool Tower is the most notable feature in town but it will soon have a rival as the 196ft tall Star Flyer is set to be erected nearby in readiness for Blackpool By The Sea which will get underway on Friday, 15th November 2024. The ride arrived in Blackpool earlier this week on a flat back lorry and it immediately sparked huge interest from thrill riders.

Half the height of Blackpool Tower

The Star Flyer is approximately half the height of the nearby Blackpool Tower and when it opened on the promenade in 2023 it proved to be a massive hit throughout the Christmas period. The ride consists of sixteen swinging seats which spin high above the rooftops and streets whilst offering amazing views along the promenade and out to sea.

Christmas By The Sea village

This will be the centrepiece of Christmas By The Sea village which will also offer a range of food and drink outlets, artificial snowfalls, festive tram rides, children’s attractions, live shows, a free ice skating rink, light installations and projection shows. The 2023 Christmas By The Sea village attracted record numbers of visitors and it is certainly one of the biggest events in the annual calendar.
