The 2022 Blackpool Illuminations are now very much in full swing with millions of extra visitors set to flock to the seaside town over the next few months to wonder at the thrilling light spectacular. Nevertheless we’re edging closer to a 16-night festival of light which will be even more spectacular and which will offer a few things that the illuminations don’t.

Lightpool is back with a bang for 2022 and we can expect a thrilling array of light-based art installations along the seafront as well as live performances, lasers and many family-orientated activities for a whole sixteen nights. The 2022 event gets underway on Friday, 14th October and draws to a close on Saturday, 29th October, the light spectacular taking place from 6pm to 10pm each evening.

The event will take place both along the seafront and in some of the town’s most iconic buildings. Not only that but it is completely FREE!!!

Carnival Magic will take place in Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Monday, 24th October with 7pm and 8:30pm performances. Characters and puppets will appear in glowing costumes and will perform to music.

There will be an Illuminated Tram Parade along the seafront, between Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the North Pier on Thursday, 27th October at 5pm.

There will also be Art Trail Highlights along the promenade with individual projection shows on Blackpool Tower, plus art installations such as the Flux and Aqualux. These will take place for the duration of the Festival.
