Blue will headline Blackpool Illuminations 2022 switch-on
Organisers have announced that the hugely popular boy-band ‘Blue’ will be performing at the 2022 Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On concert.
Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa are set to entertain the crowds at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom at the switch-on on September 2nd 2022 ahead of their planned arena tour.
Other acts will include singer-songwriter Tom Grennan, while the full line-up for the eagerly-awaited event has yet to be finalised. The celebrity who will be pulling the switch to trigger the illuminations is also yet to be announced.
The 2022 Blackpool Illuminations will take place from September 2nd, 2022 to January 2nd, 2023. The spectacle has once again been extended to provide a boost for the many tourism-related business which have been hit hard of late, both by the Covid-19 restrictions and the ongoing rail dispute.
Blue were formed 20 years ago in London and since then they have sold a hugely impressive 16 million records along with numerous Number One hit singles. Earlier in 2022 they announced a series of tour dates across the country in December to mark their 20-year anniversary and as one of the most popular bands in the UK, many will be desperate to grab tickets to see them in action.
The 2022 switch-on concert is set to feature many live music performances at the Tower Ballroom and the crowd will be made up of an audience of 2000 who will be selected from a free ballot.
