Shrek the Musical coming to Blackpool Opera House

A completely new production of Shrek the Musical is to come to the famous Blackpool Opera House for Christmas 2023.

Prepare to pain the town green with an exciting new production of Shrek the Musical which is due to come to Blackpool Opera House in December 2023. The UK and Ireland tour will visit Blackpool Opera House on Tuesday, 12th December 2023 and last until Saturday, 30th December 2023.

This is a brand new production of the classic show but all of the main characters will be there and these will be accompanied by the well-known songs and storyline from the original musical by Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire, including the smash hit ‘I’m a Believer’.

The Oscar-winning Shrek film celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 and the musical version first appeared on Broadway in 2008. The West End production of the musical was nominated for four Olivier awards.

Shrek the Musical is an action-packed fun-filled riot of laughter with some vibrant characters including Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad and an array of loveable fairy-tale characters. Indeed this is a musical extravaganza that will appeal to little kids and big kids alike.

The audience will be invited to join Shrek’s and Donkey’s adventure as they look to complete their quest and along the way they will forge unexpected friendships and find romance.

Tickets for Shrek the Musical will soon be on sale and given the huge popularity of the original musical, these are certain to sell extremely quickly.
