Blood Brothers to visit Blackpool as part of a UK tour

Willy Russell’s moving musical Blood Brothers will visit Blackpool as part of a UK-wide tour. The multi-award winning production tells the story of two brothers who have been separated from birth and the role of their mother is played by former X Factor finalist Niki Evans. The show will arrive at Blackpool Winter Gardens on October 11th 2022 and it will run until the 15th October.

Niki made this role her very own while the show was in London’s West End. The role of Mickey will be played by Sean Jones while Joel Benedict has been chosen to play his twin, Eddie. New to the cast for the 2022 tour will be Melissa Potts who has been cast as Brenda, Carly Burns who will play Linda and Jacob Yolland who will take the role of the bus conductor.

Blood Brothers is a highly emotional show and it features show stopping musical numbers such as Tell Me It’s Not True, Marilyn Monroe and A Bright New Day. Thus far this has been one of just three musicals to have surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End and it has become known as the ‘standing ovation musical’.

Many high profile actors and actresses have been involved in the musical in past seasons the most notable of these being Barbara Dickson who played the role of Mrs Johnstone and won a Laurence Olivier Award for her portrayal. Spice Girl Mel C received a nomination for her revival of this role in 2010.

The touring production will also take in Manchester and Liverpool as part of the UK tour.
