Blackpool Tower Circus
The Blackpool Tower Circus is making a big comeback this weekend in a newly refurbished venue and visitors can enjoy a host of thrilling new acts.
Blackpool’s famous Tower Circus is set to reopen this coming weekend following a huge £1 million makeover. The new season is about to get underway and preparations are being finalised for the reopening of the circus on Saturday, 2nd April 2022. This will allow visitors to witness an amazing human pyramid on a high wire which is a part of a brand new show from Circus Fiesta.
There will be many more new acts for families to enjoy, however the highlight will undoubtedly be the human pyramid which will perform on a wire high above the ring which will be filled with over 42,000 gallons of water. Other notable acts at the circus this season include a troop from Columbia who perform a ‘double big ring of death’ and a juggler who will be juggling no less than five tennis rackets in one go.
The 1300 capacity circus venue has been undergoing extensive refurbishment and restoration throughout the winter months and this has included the complete restoration of the ornate ceiling which was inspired by the famous Granada Alhambra and designed by Frank Matcham.
This venue is the world’s oldest circus arena and it dates way back to 1894. It is perhaps the most famous circus on the planet and has become a true icon in the circus world.
