Local craftsmanship showcased at Abingdon Street Market
Abingdon Street is the location of Blackpool’s most popular market and the venue is set to showcase local craftsmanship in a special event on Sunday, 25th August 2024.
Showcase of local talents
The Strand Collective is an arts-based organisation which is set to bring together a wide range of stalls which will offer street food, drinks and beverages, crafts and music in an initiative which aims to provide independent local businesses with a platform. The monthly ‘Makers’ Market’ assists with encouraging local shopping and foster connections within the local community. Indeed, the principal goal of the event is to help local businesses showcase their talents and produce as well as uplift the independent creative community of Blackpool and the wider Fylde area.
Hugely popular event
This event is always hugely popular and it will take place at Abingdon Street Market, this council owned venue having received significant investment in recent years with an overhaul creating a new trading area and food hall. £3.6 million of government cash was provided to upgrade the market and this in itself has assisted in the regeneration of the locality.
Unique shopping experience
The Strand Collective spokeswoman, Megan Brown, said that the main goals of the event would be “to uplift the local independent creative community, by providing a platform to showcase their talents on the Fylde Coast”.
“Each of our traders brings high-quality, handmade goods that epitomise artistic craftsmanship,” she said.
“From delightful treats to captivating art and craft items, our diverse range of traders promises a unique shopping experience.”
