Grand Prix to hold Last Lap Party at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Grand Prix to hold Last Lap Party at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the big attraction at our favourite seaside resort and fans of the Grand Prix ride have a chance to take a final lap before it closes for good this year.

Exciting new attraction

Fans of one of the more popular rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Pleasure Beach Resort) are being given the opportunity to ride it one last time before it closes permanently before the summer season. Last month the pleasure beach announced that the popular Grand Prix ride would be closing in 2024 in order to make way for an exciting new attraction and while fans of the park are undeniably excited about the new ride, many were saddened by the decision to dispense with the Grand Prix which has given many some very fond memories.

Closing party

To that end, Blackpool Pleasure Beach have announced that they will host a big ‘closing party’ for the ride which will take place in June 2024. This will be a night-time event and will allow fans of the attraction to partake in the ride for one last time. Visitors will also be able to enjoy live performances by local musicians and artists as well as a whole range of entertainment throughout the evening. Those who ride on the Grand Prix will be given a special commemorative certificate which will verify that they were amongst the final riders on the attraction.

Glass of Prosecco

Visitors will also be able to enjoy popular ride ICON during the evening, while a range of supercars will be provided by Elite Competitions. Guests will be handed a complimentary glass of Prosecco upon arrival at the pleasure beach and will be given a chance to have their photographs taken alongside the supercars.

Fitting send-off

CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Pleasure Beach Resort), Amanda Thompson, said: “The Grand Prix has been part of the Pleasure Beach family since 1960 when it was introduced by my grandfather. It has a special place in my heart and has provided our guests with cherished memories for many years, so it’s only right we give it a fitting send-off.

“This event will be a celebration of its legacy and the joy it has brought to generations of visitors, as well as an opportunity to bid a final farewell to such a beloved attraction.

“Whilst it’s sad to say goodbye, we’re constantly evolving and reviewing our ride offering, looking at ways to improve and provide even more memorable experiences for our guests.”
