Blackpool still a hit with visitors in the depths of winter

The UK may be in the grip of winter but visitors continue to flock in huge numbers to Blackpool as the town prepares for another record spring and summer season.

January is generally the coldest month of the year and the Irish Sea isn’t exactly known as a relaxing place to take a dip, however this hasn’t deterred thousands of tourists who are taking advantage of some excellent winter deals in and around Blackpool. This famous seaside resort doesn’t shut down for winter with many of the key attractions such as Blackpool Tower and the three piers continuing to welcome visitors throughout January, February and March.

Indeed, many consider the early months of the year to be the perfect time to visit Blackpool with all of the key attractions far quieter and offering great deals throughout the winter months. The town’s beach has won many awards over the years for its cleanliness and it is certainly far less crowded on frosty winter days. You would hardly consider sunbathing when the mercury dips towards zero but there are few things better than a bracing walk along the seafront in the winter sunshine.

Blackpool Council has long been committed to improving facilities for both visitors and local residents and this has helped bring about a transformation of some areas of town, as well as attracting private investment. Partly as a result of the increased investments and improvements, Blackpool enjoyed a huge growth in visitor numbers in 2023 compared to previous years.
