Blackpool named better than Edinburgh for autumn getaway
The summer holidays are only just over but many families are already making plans for their next break and where better to go that Blackpool with its wealth of entertainment and attractions.
It’s fair to say that we haven’t enjoyed the sunniest of summers this year but with the sun splitting the skies (at the time of writing) and the Blackpool Illuminations in full swing, many are planning to take a break to the Fylde coast over the autumn.
Indeed, the later months of the year tend to be very popular for a holiday given that they are generally quieter and cheaper than the summer months and Blackpool is one place where many families of all ages will have their eye on.
The famous seaside resort has officially been named as the second most popular destination in the UK between September and November, only London pipping it to the post. Blackpool has ranked higher than other popular domestic towns and cities such as York, Edinburgh, Bournemouth, Manchester, Liverpool, Llandudno, the Lake District and Glasgow.
According to date from travel rating site TripAdvisor, around 40% of Brits are intending to take a break within the United Kingdom during the autumn and this is certainly excellent news for resorts such as Blackpool.
Blackpool has earned a reputation for all-year-round entertainment and attractions and with the famous Illuminations set to shine bright every single night between now and January 1st 2024 and Blackpool Pleasure Beach opening right through to November, now is the time to book your break to one of the best tourist destinations in the country.
