TOWIE’s Gemma Collins to star in Chicago at Blackpool this summer

Reality TV star Gemma Collins will join the likes of Djalenga Scott and Faye Brookes in the cast for the UK tour of Chicago which visits Blackpool during the summer of 2022.

Gemma Collins of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ fame has been cast in the role of Mama Morton for the forthcoming UK tour of Chicago. Apparently the producers of the show were left ‘stunned’ by Gemma’s audition and on that basis she will play this role when the tour pays a visit to the Blackpool Winter Gardens during the summer. The star-studded cast also includes former West End actress and Coronation Street star Faye Brookes who will play the role of Roxie Hart, as well as Djalenga Scott who will star as Velma Kelly.

Chicago will run from Thursday, 28th June to Saturday, 2nd July at the Opera House at Blackpool Winter Gardens.

Gemma rose to fame following her appearance on the reality show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ for eight years between 2011 and 2019. She is also a businesswoman with notable success and is now one of the most recognised TV personalities in the country.

Having trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School, Collins has performed on stage since a very early age. Chicago Production Producer David Ian said:

“We were completely stunned by Gemma’s audition for the role. She’s an undeniable force both on and off stage, and we can’t wait to see her portrayal of ‘Mama Morton’ on tour.

“Audiences across the country are in for a treat.”
